Traveling is fun but flight journey is scary: Angie Ibarra

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”― Mark Twain

What were the three most memorable experiences you had in the year 2018?

2018 was a very memorable year for me because I was able to do at least two things on my bucket list.

  • In April, I went to Nepal and I was able to do a 3-day trek to Poon Hill.  It is along the Annapurna circuit and we were there during springtime. The flowers were blooming and even though it was a tough hike, when we finally got to see the snow-covered peaks, it was worth it. Nepal is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to.
  • Then in October, I was able to travel to Morocco and go to the Sahara Desert.  Riding camels along sand dunes, sleeping overnight in the middle of the desert, watching the stars at night while listening to Berber music was something I’d never imagined I’d be able to experience.
  • At the end of the year, I was able to finally visit Koh Lipe. It is an island in the southern part of Thailand. A beautiful place which should be on everyone’s itinerary

Do you have a bucket list 2019? If so what are the five things on it?

2019 began in an interesting way. I have plans to travel during spring and summer but then I was struck by misfortune. Whilst playing goalie at football I received a wrist injury that put me in a cast. I have to keep this cast for five weeks and in five weeks I will set off for Europe. For 2019, I’ll start with another European trip starting from Greece and then going to Eastern Europe so that’s something to look forward to!

One of the things that is on my bucket list for 2019 is I’m going to live in London for at least a month, it’s nothing interesting because I know it’s going to be very expensive as well. I would also love for 2019 to be the year I can go to the United States and then maybe somewhere in South America but we’ll see what happens in the next few months.

What has been your favorite pastime to do during flight Journey?

Celebrate your win! . Big or small, recognise that you've taken that first step towards something you've always thought you can't do. . It's either your first morning to actually get out of bed, first run of the year or even first blog post. It is a/the first step of many and you definitely should celebrate it. . My win for today is finishing 2 pages of my new theme website. Although I'm not satisfied with them yet but they're small steps in the right direction. . What about you? What's your win for today? . 📸@cherrymayward . #travelmoments #celebrations #thailand#portraits #portrait #pixel_ig #makeportraits #wearetravelgirls #postthepeople #featurepalette #bleachmyfilm #portraitmood #beautifuldestinations #ourplanetdaily #dametraveler #theoutbound #stayandwander #worldplaces #bestvacations #earthofficial #gltlove #beautifulmatters #passionpassport #dametraveler #Philippines #filipina #amazingthailand #girlswhowander #sunsets #worldofwanderlost

This is a weird thing because I love to travel, but I’m scared of flying. So, during flights I usually have books with me. I also try to watch every movie/series that’s available during flights so I don’t have to worry about being on the plane.

I also write my blog posts or work so that I don’t have to think about where I am or worry about every single bump of the plane

We surely know you are an adventurous junkie share one secret expose you want to reveal to your fans who see your picture perfect Instagram?

Instagram photos are curated. People don’t really see how a photo was taken, only the results. When on a more adventurous activity, people don’t get to see how I had to carry a 10-kilo backpack just to get to the top.

Or like this one photo I took at a viewpoint in Palawan. It was a struggle to even get there but then you go there for the perfect photo. It was a beautiful place but I wouldn’t recommend going to the top because it was a bit dangerous so I think you have to be careful and not just think about how the photo will look like after but that’s difficult for me to say because it’s what most people want to do.

What totally different experience you want to dive in 2019? A suggestion for travel enthusiasts? Places, experiences? Kindly share the relevant images that you want us to upload a long with answers.

2019 is going to be a year of different experiences for me because I’m going to start my sabbatical. I’m going to not work as a teacher for a year and so that’s going to be working online and being a full-time traveler. This is going to be a very different experience, and it is scary, it is going to be exciting and it’s going to be life changing.

I am looking forward to the places and experiences I would experience. Hopefully, I’ll get to visit the Americas too!
