My wishes on bucket list is Endless: Euriental

“Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends.
You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things: air, sleep, dreams, sea, the sky – all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.” – Cesare Pavese

DutyFreeList is conversation with illustrator and stylist travel blogger, Euriental.

What were the 3 most memorable experiences you had in the year 2018?

  • Hawaii. This was a dream trip for me and somewhere I’ve wanted to visit since I was about seven. It was everything I hoped it would be and more!
  • Two incredible hotels in Vietnam – The Reverie in Saigon and Amanoi. Such contrasting styles but both equally fantastic experiences with wonderful staff, food, design and rooms.
  • Aman Sveti Stefan in Montenegro – the most unique private island. Taking a speed boat to breakfast each morning is one hell of a way to feel like a classic film star!

Do you have a bucket list for 2019? If so, what are the 5 things on it?

I have countless bucket list places and experiences! Top 5 were/are:

  • Explore the Seychelles
  • Hot air balloon ride (which I finally achieved last weekend in Mexico City!)
  • Zip-line through the jungle in Costa Rica
  • Visit Croatia
  • Safari (also achieved last month in South Africa)

What has been your favourite luxury travel destination?

This is also a tough one, I really don’t think I can pick just one. The Maldives is of course an absolute dream destination and somewhere I would want to return to again and again. Florence is another all-time favourite of mine.

We surely know you’re travel expert, Share 1 secret (exposé) you want to reveal to your fans who see your picture-perfect Instagram😊?

It’s the same secret behind every travel Instagram account – the pictures tell the best parts of the story, not the whole story 🙂 I am undeniably privileged to be able to see so many incredible places and I LOVE travelling with a passion, but of course there are difficult aspects. Lack of sleep, stomach troubles what with adjusting to jetlag and different food/bacteria, a lack of consistency, etc. It’s just about trying to maintain some form of balance.

What’s totally different experience you want to dive-in 2019? A suggestion for travel enthusiasts? Places, experiences?

Mainly I’d say the experiences on my bucket list above! Though my partner and I are heading to India next month for the first time, which I am also very excited about. The architecture looks absolutely spectacular.

In terms of suggestions, I would say try to step a little bit out of your comfort zone. It’s the best way to understand new cultures and broaden your mind. Try some food you might not ordinarily try, don’t just stick to places where you know you’ll be surrounded by home comforts, do as the locals do (within reason and as long as it’s safe, of course).
