Nike x SH drops Earth Day Capsule Collection

Monday, April 22 is a celebration of Earth Day across globe. Mother Earth has provided us with plethora of flora and fauna, it’s high time we acknowledge it’s sustainability.

Nike is blooming it’s Earth Day celebration, upgrading three of its icons — the Air Force 1Blazer Low, and Cortez. The Nike Cortez, Blazer Low, and Air Force 1 Low will retail for $80, $90, and $100 respectively. The collection drops in collaboration with LA-based artist & designer, Steven Harrington. He breaks the one-noted monotony by of the brand with multi-color illustrations.

Motifs play on the Earth in variation, designing various mosaics with the bulky classic portraying a toon-like character holding the planet a la Atlas the titan. The Cortez features the humanoid hugging the earth in protective paranoia. Portraying a slightly different direction, the Blazer Low personifies the globe as it walks exuberantly with its swinging arms and legs.

04.22.19 🌎 Available soon. My Flyleather collaboration with @Nike will be available on the Nike SNKRS app this coming Monday at 7:00am PST. I’m so happy with how this project turned out: not just because of how clean the footwear printed… or because of how much I’m in love w Nike… But because the whole collection is made out of recycled materials that would have otherwise been sent to landfills. ♻️ I’m really excited to be a part of the future of fashion/function. I also keep getting asked about the colors we used on the collection – I pulled swatches of custom mixed paint directly from the paint colors I used for the “Magic Hour” exhibition.
