Five years after the format’s debut, Bottega Prosecco Bar has now landed in the T3 area of “Leonardo da Vinci” airport in Rome Fiumicino. Deeply rooted in the Italian tradition of fine wine and food, Bottega Prosecco Bar offers a broad selection of drinks. Along with traditional specialities, to be enjoyed all day in a relaxed environment.
Sandro Bottega, owner and Managing Director of Bottega, the Italian winery and distillery that conceived the concept, comments: “I am very happy about this Italian opening. Which reflects the core values of Bottega and aims to enhance the reputation of Italy in the oenological and gastronomic fields. Indeed, Rome Fiumicino ranked 8th at the latest edition of the World Airport Awards. It is the only Italian airport in the first ten places. We contribute by offering our wines and our culinary tradition. Moreover, made of simplicity, genuineness and taste. We are very grateful to Autogrill and Aeroporti di Roma for believing in the project and supporting its development.”
- The Bottega Prosecco Bar concept was created to deliver the experience of good wine, genuine food and convivial Italian lifestyle.
- All over the world and in different contexts, from airports to resorts and shopping centres. The collaboration of sommeliers, chefs, architects and designers has shaped this idea. Originally inspired by the philosophy of the venetian “Bacaro”. An informal tavern, where presentation of food is mainly as “cicheti”. Where consumption of traditional food bites takes place at the counter.
- In a welcoming yet elegant ambience, travellers can enjoy the “Perfect Match”. The ideal combination of simple Italian plates, made with authentic Mediterranean ingredients. Along with a glass of Prosecco, or another wine from the wide Bottega range.
The format debuted in 2014 on-board the MS Viking Line “Cinderella” cruise ship. With this opening, Bottega reaches 17 locations since its launch. Existing venues include Milan Malpensa Airport; Burgas and Varna airports (Bulgaria); Birmingham Airport. Eventually, that proved so successful that has been honoured with the “Airport Bar of the Year” award at the Drinks International Travel Retail Awards 2018. And more concept variations (lounges, beach bars, terraces and wine bars) located from Seoul to Seychelles, Gibraltar to Oman, Tanzania to Abu Dhabi. The announcement of four more venues to open in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Malaysia in 2019.
