Kim-Marie Evans: Cocktail blogging is my forte

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”― Mark Twain

DutyFreeList in conversation with luxury travel blogger, Kim-Marie Evans.

What were the 3 most memorable experiences you had in the year 2018?

  • My sons and I did an actual cattle drive at Paws Up in Montana, moving hundreds of heads of cattle while spending hours on the plains horseback was an extraordinary experience.

  • I’ve just returned from the almost unheard of island of Bequia south of St. Vincent and the Gernadines. It’s truly like what the Caribbean was 50 years ago. The owner of the hotel took us out on a true mega yacht so we could swim with turtles, seriously.
  • Our most memorable experience has been moving to California from the east coast, this is a magical state that everyone should visit.

Do you have a bucket list for 2019? If so, what are the 5 things on it?

  • Hoping to get to the island of Ibiza,
  • Tour Rome with my daughter,
  • Become a better surfer,
  • Go heli skiing next winter
  • Real camping this summer, not glamping.

What has been your favourite luxury travel destination?

Dubai is definitely the most insane place I have ever been, I stayed at the Four Seasons Jumeirah, the energy in that city is like nothing I’ve ever experienced.

We surely know you’re travel expert, Share 1 secret (exposé) you want to reveal to your fans who see your picture-perfect Instagram 😊?

When I depart for a destination I always look fabulous, hair done, outfit coordinated, when I return I look tired and homeless wearing whatever is not dirty. That’s why there are only pictures on the way TO a place, never FROM a place.

What’s totally different experience you want to dive-in 2019? A suggestion for travel enthusiasts? Places, experiences?

Everyone needs to get off the grid at some point, no cameras, no phones, no trying to “capture the perfect image”, we all need a break and to actually let our brains rest.

We have seen your blog it also consist of food images what are your views on food blogging?

Food is not really my thing, but I know other people really like to know what the food options are in a destination so I try to at least include some expertise. Cocktail blogging is my forte, if you want to know what and where to drink, I’m your girl.
